OUR HISTORY
We can trace the long Braden family history of working with glass in the Lehigh Valley, beginning with Jack’s Grandfather, John “Jack” Braden, along with his wife, Mary, starting in 1914. According to his diaries from the early 1930s, the business was called Lehigh Glass & Mirror Works, with stores in Bethlehem, Allentown & Easton. Subsequently, his sons, Carl & William continued the business until 1970, when it was sold to Shatterproof Glass Co. from Detroit, Michigan. Carl’s son, John (Jack), continued working for the new owners while attending Moravian College, before moving to Tamaqua, PA and working for Glass Specialty in Hazleton, PA for a short time.
On June 9, 1976, Jack and his wife, Donna, decided to marry her passion for business with his skill for auto & flat glass, forming Jack’s Glass. Our Pennsylvania glass company continues to this day, serving customers, both in our glass shop and by mobile vans in a 25-mile radius of our corporate location at 424 N. Madison St. in Allentown, PA.
We are most proud of our “Excellence in Business” Award from the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce in 2009, our Award of Merit for our contribution to highway safety from the City of Allentown, our National Glass Assn. Business Certification, and numerous Readers’ Choice Awards. Our 46 years of success as specialty glass manufacturers have afforded us the opportunity to aid countless charities, including Toys For Tots, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Leukemia & Lymphoma, Food Pantries, schools, colleges, and other community organizations.
We continue to be an advocate for our customers as insurance coverage becomes more complex and we strive to use the best materials possible. This coupled with having all NGA Master Certified Technicians, each with decades of experience with Jack’s Glass, gives us the ability to provide superior service.
Our customers today include department stores, architects, builders, property managers, hotels, interior designers, auto dealers, body shops, service stations, municipalities and can be anyone who cares for a vehicle or building.
